Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Environmental Impact Assessor to join our team. As an Environmental Impact Assessor specializing in the field of Social Sciences, specifically Anthropology, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive assessments to evaluate the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects or activities. Your expertise in Anthropology will be crucial in understanding the social, cultural, and human dimensions of these impacts. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in Anthropological research methodologies and possess a deep understanding of environmental regulations and sustainability principles.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to determine the potential environmental impacts of proposed projects or activities, focusing on the social and cultural aspects, as well as the broader ecological context.
- Utilize Anthropological research methods to gather data, analyze findings, and develop comprehensive reports that outline potential impacts on local communities, cultural heritage, and social systems.
- Evaluate the potential risks and benefits associated with proposed projects, considering environmental justice, socio-economic factors, and the long-term sustainability of the impacted areas.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental scientists, engineers, and policy experts, to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the project's potential impacts.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to project managers, stakeholders, and decision-makers regarding the social and cultural implications of proposed projects or activities.
- Stay up to date with relevant environmental regulations, policies, and industry best practices, ensuring compliance in all assessments and reports.
- Conduct fieldwork, interviews, and surveys to gather primary data and engage with local communities, ensuring their voices and concerns are adequately represented in the assessment process.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Master's degree or higher in Anthropology, with a specialization or strong background in Environmental Anthropology or a related field.
- Proven experience in conducting Environmental Impact Assessments within the field of Anthropology, preferably in a professional capacity.
- In-depth knowledge of Anthropological research methodologies, including ethnography, participant observation, and qualitative data analysis.
- Familiarity with environmental regulations, policies, and sustainability principles, particularly as they pertain to the social and cultural dimensions of environmental impact assessments.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop meaningful insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and establish positive working relationships with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
